Our Fall 2026 theme for faith formation at CPC is Back to Basics, and for Christians that means the Bible. There’s a saying that the Bible is the most owned and least read book in the world. Some of the best—and worst—things in history have been motivated by our understanding of the Bible. So we’re starting with a thoughtful look at how best to interpret and act faithfully upon what we find in “the good book.”

WHAT IS THE BIBLE & WHAT IS IT FOR?

Fellowship Hall
All adult classes will meet together in the Fellowship Hall to ask some really basic questions about the Bible. Some of the answers may surprise you! We’ll also give an overview of upcoming classes and faith formation events this fall.
BETTER WAYS TO READ THE BIBLE
September 20 - October 25 from 9:15-10:15 AM
Room 100 & Zoom (Hybrid)
A 6-week study based on the book Better Ways to Read the Bible: Transforming a Weapon of Harm into a Tool of Healing by Zach Lambert. Lambert dismantles the “lenses” we use when we look at the Bible, and how they affect our understanding. This class is offered in hybrid mode, so people joining us for worship online can join in faith formation as well.

Beginning September 20, from 9:15-10:15 AM
Fellowship Hall Annex
An engaging introduction to one of the most influential—and challenging—books of the New Testament: Paul’s Letter to the Romans. No previous study of Romans is necessary. Bring your Bible, your questions, and your curiosity.
YOUTH
Beginning September 13 from 9:15-10:15 AM
High School Room
All youth, grades 6-12, are invited to join us on Sunday mornings as we explore Biblical themes and share the highs and lows of life. Visit our Youth page for more info about our youth ministry.
