Akela's NewsSummer FunThe leadership of Pack 232 wishes everyone a happy and safe summer. See you again in the fall. Loop The LoopsEven at 100 years old, Boy Scouts of America continues to grow and change, adding new opportunities for more interesting and fun activities. Such things as skateboarding and video games are now included in the list of belt loops. Visit the following sites to discover some of the newest belt loops and activities recognized by BSA: U.S. Scouting Service ProjectBoy Scout Trail Popcorn News"Congratulations on a very successful drive!! They should be very proud of themselves! I hope you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in what your pack achieved!" Well, the popcorn door−to−door sales are over for Occoneechee Council, and Pack 232 sold $9470 worth of popcorn between our Show and Sells and our Take Order. Additionally, one scout sold $40 online! We had 34 scouts out of 39 participate in the sale this year! That is not quite 100%, but pretty close. Speaking of online sales, did you know you can continue to sell online and earn money toward the $1500 scholarship prize through February 25? So don't stop checking that website! Holidays are approaching, and family members might be interested in collecting some popcorn tins for gifts and for guests! If you haven't created your account online, it's not too late to start! You'll need your cub scout BSA card with your unique BSA member number and a valid e−mail address. (If you have multiple scouts selling from the same household, you must use different e−mail accounts.) THANK YOU SO MUCH CUB SCOUTS AND PARENTS OF PACK 232! AboutLocated in Cary, NC at Cary Presbyterian Church, Pack 232 is an active group of 1st through 5th grade boys building strong friendships as they learn life skills needed to become excellent citizens and grow into Boy Scouts of America. Volunteers NeededTo download a PDF* list of pack and committee positions for 2009−2010, <Click here> . Also listed are the various pack activities and events for the upcoming year. Each of these events requires at least one coordinator to organize and recruit helpers to assist them. Thank you to all who have already signed up! Is your name on the list? Is there a spot you could fill? Is there someone´s name listed multiple times that you could help alleviate their heavy volunteer schedule by stepping up yourself? You can see from the length of this list the many and varied activities that our pack supports throughout the year. It is great for the pack overall to "spread the wealth" of talent by having each pack family commit to help with at least one event. Contact Ann Lockhart <Click here> to say yes to one of the many opportunities to support your son.
