The National Council of Churches
(NCC) is an organization of 36 Protestant, Anglican, and Orthodox denominations (including The PCUSA) promoting ecumenical cooperation. The NCC was founded over 50 years ago, and works for peace and justice in the U.S. and around the world. It also has a long history of supporting Biblical and theological scholarship, including producing the Revised Standard Version translation in 1952, and the New Revised Standard Version in 1989.
